digital toolbox

The E+ FOREE Toolbox on Digital Skills for Forest Education refers to a collection of digital tools, activities and resources designed to enhance and support blended and digital learning in forestry.

Target Groups to which this Toolbox is addressed are:

  • Teachers, trainers, teacher educators, developers of courses and learning formats, learning content creators and other education staff in the context of further forest education
  • Principals, managing directors, heads of training departments, and similar high-level persons in forest education facilities policy and decision-makers related to the forest education sector.

The Toolbox has been developed through a research effort on the synergies between typical forestry education contents and the array of digital technologies available for the improvement and integration of traditional forest education courses at the European level.

The Toolbox is divided into 3 main sections, related to the digital technologies categories, the forest education contents and the digital learning activities that can be carried out during blended learning sessions,

The Toolbox, indeed, includes a variety of software applications, online platforms, and digital resources that facilitate the acquisition of knowledge and skills related to forestry, that can be applied in any phase and content of the course. Each category of the digital technologies available are described and examples of application in the forestry education sector are provided. The description of the main forestry courses contents are described and the digital tools categories that can be applied during related lectures are listed.

Finally, many examples of digital learning activities are given, with insights into which tools and platforms can be adopted for their implementation.

The goal is to provide educators, students, and professionals with the digital skills to organise, develop, and manage forestry courses. The toolbox has an online version which may evolve with advancements in technology and educational methods, ensuring that learners stay informed and proficient in relevant digital tools for forest education.
