Written by

The Erasmus+ project FOREE successfully hosted its online policy workshop “Forestry Education of Tomorrow: Digital and Sustainable” on April 29, 2025. Nearly 40 participants from German-speaking countries – including educators, decision-makers, and forestry professionals – took part in the event. The interactive session focused on the future of blended learning in forestry education and demonstrated a strong willingness among participants to continue working on this important topic even after the project ends.

Throughout the project, FOREE has reached over 30 forestry schools and training institutions across Europe and trained more than 75 educators. The workshop presented the project’s results and highlighted the commitment of vocational schools and teaching professionals to develop flexible, digitally integrated learning models.

Key discussion points included:

• Effective integration of digital learning into forestry education

• Required resources and partnerships to support the digital transition

• Strengthening networks between education, policy, and practice

The FOREE team is encouraged by the high level of interest and is looking forward to continuing collaboration with stakeholders to promote innovation in forestry education.
